Completing an LED Flex Strip installation does not have to be hard, make it simple with LEDSupply’s strip accessories!

LED strips are the most popular self-help option in many residential applications. The independent self-adhesive strip is easy to operate safely and is suitable for cabinet lighting, bay lighting and various key lighting applications, which have become popular with the development of LED strip lighting technology. The best part... There are a variety of accessories that make the 12V LED strip user-friendly and easy to install!

Article LED lights.
First, it is important to familiarize yourself with all the basics of LED strip options and the 12V LED strip guide for using them. LEDSupply provides LED strips, suitable for indoor and outdoor use, in a variety of white colors, even with a color-changing effect (also known as RGB strip lights). Our last blog post provided a good introduction to the 12V LED strip, which is a good starting point for any novice in the LED strip world.

How the power supply
LEDSupply's flexible bar needs 12VDC to operate normally. For home use, this requires a 12V power supply. Plug-in LED lamp power adapter or 12V transformer can be directly connected to the ordinary household ac line voltage. Learn how to power LED strips here.

Dimming and controlling LED strip
Like most light sources, users want to control their light. With LED strips, there are many ways to dim and control. The most common option is to use an online dimmer controller. The 12V LED strip dimmer USES PWM mode output to change the light from the strip. The RGB strip light requires a 3-channel controller that helps to blend different colors, giving it many of the discoloration effects it wants for its accent lighting.

If your home has a dimming setting with a regular residential dimmer, you will need to use an adjustable LED power supply.

LED strip with on/off switch
LED light strip toggle switch

Use LED Strip toggle switch to easily add switch to LED Strip. Just as most people want to control light, turning it on and off with a simple switch is a necessity for many projects, large and small. The toggle switch is aligned with a 12-inch cable with a male and female end of 2.1mm, ideal for use with 12V strips and plug-in power adapters.

To use it, simply insert the power supply into the main end of the cable and then insert the other end into the strip. Just like you have an LED strip with a switch that can be turned on and off at any time.

LED light bar connector fitting
Almost every LED strip project needs to connect the LED strips together. The most common LED strip connections are:

End-to-end: further extend the LED strip connector by inserting a seamless strip connector

either

LED strip-to-wire connector: connects strips to wires to cross distances that do not require light, and then connects to the next Strip lamp. For example, if you are running under cabinet lighting and have a small break in the cabinet where the stove is located, you need to continue running the LED strip on the other side. These types of connections are easily made from EZ buckle type LED strip connectors. The LED light bar connector can be used together with 20-22 Gauge strand wire, with 2-pin connector for monochrome bar or 4-pin LED bar connector for RGB strip. Follow the full tutorial to learn how to use them for your project.

LED light bar divider
Have you ever wondered how to connect multiple strips to a single power supply? This is where the LED strip splitter is very useful. A shunt is often referred to as a Y shunt or Y branch because they can be separated in two different directions. LED bar splitter cable

LED bar splitter has 2, 3 or 4 dividers that can seamlessly connect up to 4 strips to a single power adapter! This is handy for running strips in two different directions or running LED strips in parallel.

LEDSupply provides 4-pin RGB splitter and monochrome LED distributor cables. For more information about using LED splitters to complete LED bar runs, see this useful guide.

LED strip jumper - LED strip extension cord
A strip jumper is basically an extension cord for an LED light. Jumpers can jump from strip to strip, but their main use is between the LED power supply and the start of the strip lamp operation. Like other strip fittings, the jumper cable comes in a monochrome or RGB LED strip option.

Monochrome LED strip requires 2 pin LED extension cord. Both ends of the cable itself are provided with a universal 2.1mm barrel-type plug adapter for use with all monochrome strips and dimming controllers. The jumper has a 2.1mm female head connector at startup for easy insertion into a 12V power adapter. At the other end is a 2.1 mm male connector that plugs directly into the ribbon lamp.

The monochrome jumpers for the DC 2.1mm LED light extension cord are 1 meter (3.28 feet), 2 meters (6.56 feet) and 3 meters (9.84 feet).

The RGB band requires 4 pins of the RGB extension cable jumper to work. The RGB strip is a 4 - pin design, unique to the color - changing strip. The RGB jumper has the same 4-pin adapter for seamless connection. The RGB jumper comes with a 4-pin male adapter for connecting the 4-pin female connector to the next batch of RGB strips.

4 pin RGB extension cord RGB strip lamp jumper provides 30 cm, 50 cm, 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, 5 m and 10 m length.

The LED strip jumper is best used as an extension cord from the LED power supply to the LED strip itself. They can also be used to jump between two LED strips, just making sure not to exceed the maximum running length of the strip. They work best with LED strip splitters because you may need to run the extender from the original power supply to some other strip lights. This is very convenient for running parallel lines of LED strips over long running lengths.

LED lights bring
LED strip jumpers are useful, but they only have a specified length, which may not apply to everyone because each LED strip item is unique. In these cases, you need to reduce the LED strip between separate runs and run custom "jumpers" using LED lights. Instead of using separate wires, the simplest approach is to use parallel bonding wires to achieve a neat setup.

LEDSupply provides stranded wire of 22 specifications, parallel bonding, suitable for this type of housing:

Two conductors for LED strip, 2-core conductor-22 single stranded for monochrome strip. This red and black bonding line makes it easy to run between the strips once. They are seamlessly connected to a 2-pin LED strip and can be used in conjunction with a wire connector.

4-core LED wire for RGB strip - no. 22 stranded wire for RGB LED strip. 4 parallel bonding wires are used for connecting between RGB strips, which are perfectly matched with 4-pin LED strip connector.

The LED power cord is very convenient in many wiring situations, and each wire is color-coded, so it's easy to keep the wires straight and not confuse the connections.

When using wires, sometimes you need to splice two wires together. This can be done with plain nuts, lever nuts or electrical tape. We provide simple butt joints that work very well and provide a clean, seamless look, as shown below. Use these wire connectors for wire to wire connections wherever they are needed. Butt connector

Another convenient wire connector is the "T" type wire connector. This makes it very easy to splice new parallel wires in separate runs. Connector connectors use 20-24 AWG wires, insulation does not require stripping!

Tie them together
