Most Common Light Bulbs and Their LED Replacement

Even though the bulb has been around for decades, its life seems to be coming to an end. Video films took a big hit when they first appeared in the 1980s, but they were eventually replaced by DVDS, which have now been replaced by blu-ray - and so have light bulbs.

The bulb works by running an electric current through a wire called a filament. The filament 'burns' and produces light. Eventually the filament will burn out and the bulb will fail.

Leds work in a completely different way. The current passing through it causes an electronic device called a diode to emit photons - the same particles produced and released by the sun. This causes leds to glow and produce light.

Using leds instead of traditional incandescent bulbs would provide immediate benefits

Leds have two main advantages over light bulbs. First, they produce the same amount of light as a light bulb but less power. Second, they last longer because they do not "burn".

If you want to save a lot of money, you can replace all the bulbs by replacing all the bulbs. This can be difficult because it is difficult to switch from a light bulb to an LED on a similar basis.

For two bulbs, there are two important factors - power (input) and light intensity (output). Power is expressed in watts and light intensity is measured in lumens.

On bulb day, people only care about the power input, but this is because bulbs are standardized in terms of power and lumen. For example, a 40-watt bulb is always less than a 60-watt bulb.

The most common types of light bulbs used in homes are 25,40,60,75 and 100 watts. For most rooms, the standard is a 60-watt bulb. A 25-watt bulb emits very low light, and a 100-watt bulb is very bright.

Find your LED bulb replacement by querying the following information
In terms of LED, 25w bulb is equivalent to 2w LED, 40w bulb is equivalent to 5w LED, 50w bulb is equivalent to 7w LED, 75w bulb is equivalent to 9w LED, 100w bulb is equivalent to 12w LED.

It is easy to understand that leds use much less energy than incandescent bulbs. To achieve the same level of illumination as a 25w conventional bulb, for example, an equivalent LED bulb USES about one-twelfth the energy.

This may sound simple in itself, but when it comes to leds, it's actually easier to think in terms of lumens (light output) rather than power. For example, for most purposes, you'll need an LED that produces about 700 to 800 lumens. For strong light, you need more than 1,000 lumens, and for simple lighting, 300 lumens or less is sufficient.

With leds, you can also choose color temperature-the type of light generated. This can be cool or neutral white, warm glowing or yellow-white to replicate the kind of light produced by the sun.
