LED Brightness Control for Commercial Properties

There are various reasons why you will need to control the brightness of your LED bulbs. This is the same for residential as well as commercial and industrial properties, even if the considerations are on different scales. Here we share these reasons as well as tell you why LED is the ideal type of lighting system for brightness control.

What Type of Light Does LED Provide?

As with any developing technology, LED lighting has at one point had certain limitations. Part of the problem was its inability to provide ‘white’ light. This is light which is most useful in commercial properties for a variety of reasons.

The main reason is that bright white light affects the body and makes it feel more energetic. Workers are less tired, more motivated and more able to see their work. This reduces fatigue and accidents while increasing productivity. The light temperature is measured in kelvin units, and the illumination range of bright white light is between 3500K and 4100K.

Previously, the closest approach to white LED lighting was blue and white (4600K and above). This type of light can cause eye strain and may even lead to overexposure leading to vision loss. However, like ultraviolet light from the sun, it is an important part of the earth's ecosystem. The problem with leds is that they don't create the right light at the right time.

However, it has been found that phosphor can be used as a filter for blue leds to produce the bright white light needed for efficient working Spaces. This ushered in a new era of lighting, as leds' advantages in energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness ultimately LED to the right quality of light.

Why is LED the best brightness control

The combination of lower production costs and government subsidies for companies using leds means the technology has never been easier to come by. But it won't be used if it doesn't work. Fortunately, the light quality is not only better, but also easier to manage.

For high intensity discharge bulbs, such as metal halide or high pressure sodium lamps, the lamp is omnidirectional. You can use a reflector to send some light back, but it's still inefficient. With leds, you can direct light to where you need it, and only where you need it.

HID also takes time to warm up, while LED does not. Nor do they suffer from the depreciation of metal halides and lumens like light bulbs.

This combination ability creates the ideal light, adjusting the Angle in the right space and reaching the optimal brightness instantly, which means that it is final in control. You can use the brightness control unit to change the brightness at any point and dim the light to a few percent of the output (even though it's almost unnecessary to go that low).

You can manually control the brightness, or even use an optical sensor to monitor the ambient light level and change it accordingly. If you need to perform different operations in different commercial Spaces, you can preset the brightness and color Settings to change to your lighting template immediately. Motion sensors also allow you to turn the lights to full brightness when needed and off when not in use. This saves more money and further reduces energy consumption.
