What is Plug and Play LED Lighting?

What are plug and play leds?



Many retrofitted bulbs require this because the lamps they use simply cannot handle them. Plug and play bulbs are intended for all lamps that can handle the new technology without overheating, short-circuting, or causing any other electrical problems with the lighting system. What is the difference between plug and play and ballast bypass?



Ballast bypass means that the lighting fixtures have been changed so that ballasts are no longer needed. Instead of controlling the current flowing into the bulb through a ballast, it can use a direct power line and supply power directly.



For some people, this may be a good choice because it means that a ballast will never fail you, because it will never be needed. It can also save money because of the so-called "ballast factor". In some systems, the ballast loses some energy before it gets into the bulb.



However, the cost savings from using LED lighting will make up for any loss in ballast coefficients. Moreover, ballast bypass has many disadvantages.



Even from the beginning, the initial cost will increase. The ballast process requires certified electricians to perform the job, especially in industrial space. Depending on the quality of the light fixtures and wiring, this may not necessarily be a simple or quick task.



You may also need to replace expensive and inefficient sockets. Once the ballast bypass is complete, it may not even apply to all LED bulbs. This is because there is no industry standard for bypasses, so different bulbs may not be suitable for wiring different lamps.



This is why retrofitting is better than bypass ballasts. It may be a little expensive at first, but you'll benefit more from both short - and long-term results.
